Reelika Lootus is an Estonian author writing dark speculative thrillers and psychological fiction in English. She builds immersive dystopian worlds grounded in real questions about control, survival, and what happens to human identity under pressure.
Before her international English-language debut, Reelika was traditionally published in Estonia. Her psychological thriller <em>Ära võetud</em> won the fiction category of the Bestseller literature competition — one of Estonia's most competitive literary awards.
The Fast Moon series grew out of a single question: what happens to identity when a system controls not just your environment, but your body? From that question came a world of lethal sunlight, underground cities, modified humans, and buried truth. The series has been praised for its psychological depth and its grounded, engineering-level approach to dystopia.
She writes because these questions matter, and fiction is the best place to ask them without looking away. Her work sits at the intersection of dystopian science fiction, psychological thriller, and dark literary fiction — not fitting neatly into any one genre but drawing from all three.
